Potica is a traditional Slovenian rolled yeast cake and the most iconic dessert in Slovenia.
It plays a central role in Slovenian holidays and celebrations, especially at Christmas and Easter. There are more than 120 varieties of potica, both sweet and savory. Potica is made from a soft yeast dough that is rolled out thinly, spread with a filling and baked either in a special potica mold.
